New Open-World FPS REAPER ACTUAL Announced By MMO Industry Veterans
Distinct Possibility Studios reveals a large-scale shooter with MMO-style progression.
Distinct Possibility Studios has announced REAPER ACTUAL, an open-world persistent shooter that combines tactical FPS gameplay with MMO-style progression and strategic faction dynamics.
Set on the fictional island of Marova, players assume the role of Reapers — combatants engaged in ongoing conflict against rival players and AI-controlled factions. Core gameplay features include base-building, faction alliances, and resource-driven raids within a continuously evolving battlefield. Actions taken by players affect territory control and in-game events, reinforcing the game’s persistent world model.
Players can construct and upgrade bases for defense, crafting, and staging operations. The game includes interconnected PvP and PvE missions, dynamic objectives, and a player-driven economy supporting vehicle deployment and gear production. Notably, missions can trigger overlapping goals for opposing teams, leading to unpredictable encounters.
REAPER ACTUAL is being developed by industry veterans, including John Smedley, Matt Higby, and Trammell Isaac. It is planned for release on Steam and the Epic Games Store, with an additional Web3-integrated version on Etherlink offering asset ownership and trading.
No word yet on whether or not REAPER ACTUAL will be free-to-play or not.
