GDC 2023: Nuverse Will Discuss New Game Development AI Which Brings Advances To NPC Speech And Animation
Skynet is launching.
Marvel Snap developer Nuverse is putting on a series of two lectures at GDC this week and will be speaking on advanced technology which will allow gamers to have a more realistic experience.
The Game Developers Conference (GDC) takes place this week from Monday March 30th through Friday the 24th. During the week, Nuverse will be hosting a deep dive into the GPT-3 AI and how they plan to use it in their upcoming post-apocalyptic sci-fi survival game "Earth: Revival".
According to the Nuverse press release, "The main goal of GPT-3 is to advance NPC speech and animation in games".
The lectures will be focusing on how Nuverse plans to expand on how realistic they can make characters, with the goal being to create more realism in NPC actions. The AI will enhance character speech using facial animation along with systems that provide natural-sounding voices. These new systems are already being put into place in Earth: Revival... to the tune of already having created 11 hours of narrative animation in just 30 minutes.
