Official Launch Date Revealed For Upcoming Action RPG Duet Night Abyss , As Well As A Complete Removal Of Character And Weapon Banners
All characters and weapons will be free.
If you’re one of the five million people who have pre-registered for Duet Night Abyss, the action RPG from Pan Studio and Hero Games, you’ll be interested to know that an official launch date for the game was revealed this morning. A launch date of October 28 was announced during a special livestream this morning.
The stream also announced changes the devs have made to the game following two closed beta tests. One of the changes announced during the stream is that all characters and weapons will be free. And by that, they mean that players will earn all characters via gameplay and be able to collect them all. There are no banners for characters or weapons as they’re being removed. Moreover, weapons are not specific to characters. All weapons can be used by any character in the game.
Another thing that’s been removed from the game is the stamina system. During testing, they discovered the stamina system was just blocking too many things and preventing the game from being enjoyable. Players apparently complained about it quite a bit, and even providing additional stamina wasn’t helping. So, it’s been removed. Of course, this has resulted in a rework of systems that were previously related to stamina.
This doesn’t mean that players paying for characters is completely gone from the game. Rather, they’ve created a system where players can grind in-game to obtain the character by collecting their “shards”. But those who’d rather not spend the time grinding have the option to purchase what they need from the store. So it’s a time vs money thing. Also note that the star ranking system has been removed due to these changes. A detailed rundown of how the new system works can be found in the video below.
