Rift Adding Much Needed Revamp to Wardrobe System in 3.2

On Friday, the Rift team took to Twitch to present their live stream detailing the upcoming patch 3.2. While the stream did talk about the patch's Tier 2 raid, new Hammerknell Fortress Instant Adventure, and the new Planetouched Wilds zone, probably the most interesting feature talked about was the Wardrobe System changes that players have wanted for quite some time.

For those players that gather equipment and gear and use transmog baubles all the time, the changes are most welcome. Even for those of us, like me, that don't go out of their way to get certain gear pieces simply for cosmetic sake, the changes are a vast improvement over the current inventory clogging system.

Once a piece of gear lands in your inventory it will be unlocked in your wardrobe account wide regionally (NA an EU being two different regions). Current wardrobe sets that you already have will be sent back to you via in game mail so you don't lose any current gear sets you enjoy. Dyes will also unlock in a similar fashion and be placed into dye buckets that are also account wide.

Even weapons will be part of the wardrobe system as the development team is moving away from the existing transmog system. The only limitation here, because of conflicting animations, is that you cannot wardrobe a 2 hand weapon if, for stat reasons, you're actually wielding a single hand and off hand combination.

These are most welcome changes in my book. If you missed the livestream you can check it out here and if the Wardrobe System is something you're really interested in, stay tuned as Trion Worlds is planning a stream dedicated to just this topic in the coming weeks.
