Star Citizen Offers Pack With Loads Of Starships For $40,000
It's the fourth time such an item has been made available, with the cost increasing every time.
Star Citizen backers who think they haven't spent enough on the game yet got a late Christmas present from Roberts Space Industries, who brought the Legatus Pack back to its store this week. This package contains virtually every ship in the game and goes for a whopping $15,000.
No wait, that's not right -- a previous "completionist" pack sold for $15,000. This one goes for $27,000.
Hang on, that's not right either! The $27,000 is actually what the Legatus pack went for in 2018. Now the price tag has soared to an even more astronomical $36,500.
No, wait. That was the price of a Legatus pack that was offered earlier this year. Today's asking price: $40,000. And yes, that's our final answer ... for now.
Star Citizen has raised over $400 million in crowdfunding.
The option to purchase this new pack is only available to players who have already contributed at least $1,000 to Star Citizen, which I suppose shows your willingness to spend money equivalent to the price of a car on a video game. And if you're looking to buy one, might I suggest a small donation to my retirement fund instead?
