The Finals Midseason Update Brings Halloween Spirit And New Game Modes
New limited-time event, The Haunted Harvest collection, gameplay tweaks, and fresh cosmetics.
The Midseason Update for The Finals Season 8 brings the Halloween spirit, introducing new events, cosmetics, and features for the free-to-play shooter.
Ghoul Rush is a limited-time free-for-all mode where every player starts as a Survivor. Once eliminated, players return as Ghouls who hunt down the remaining Contestants. Each match runs for three rounds, offering multiple chances for revenge and rewards. Survivors earn cash by eliminating enemies or surviving to the end, while Ghouls earn it by taking down the living. The mode takes place in the fog-covered ALFA-ACTA P.E.A.C.E. Center, featuring fixed loadouts for balance.
The Haunted Harvest is a 14-day collection event with daily contracts. Completing each contract lets players smash a pumpkin for random rewards, culminating in the Legendary Swamp Formal set for those who unlock all prizes. Missing a day, however, causes one pumpkin to rot, requiring a purchase to claim the reward.
This update also tweaks existing modes. Team Deathmatch removes defibrillators and friendly totems to enhance pacing, while Power Shift adds the NOZOMI/CITADEL map to its rotation. Social improvements include Discord integration, allowing in-game party invites and Embark ID management, though PlayStation support is pending.
New replay options now let players view projectiles and turrets in action, with replays ending in a cinematic slow-motion effect. On the cosmetic front, two premium DLC bundles debut — The Apothecarion and Chirurgeon sets — each including 2400 Multibucks. The in-game store adds the Liquid Assets and Stakeholder sets, Halloween-themed weapon skins, and new national flags for Ireland and Lithuania.
Twitch Drops return for Halloween, offering the Witching Drop charm and Patch Splitters knives for viewers. The World Tour event also continues under new sponsor TRENTILA, promising the “Taste of Tomorrow.”
