Torchlight: Infinite Launches Globally Across PC And Mobile
The official launch featured reforged gameplay.
No more betas, the time has come. XD Games cross-platform ARPG Torchlight: Infinite is officially live on both PC and mobile devices. The launch version of the game features updated gameplay and a new season of content, titled Cube of Rapacity. This new season adds a new playable character to the game’s roster, Escapist Bing. It also introduces a new Hero Trait for Thea titled "Incarnation of the Gods."
The seasonal mechanic focuses on the titular Cube of Rapacity, introducing a new risk-reward element to the game. As players attempt stages, “incarnation mobs” will invade. These mobs have a chance of dropping a Desire Crystal that can be spent with the Cube of Rapacity that appears after clearing the boss. The thing is, the cube is apparently a bit fickle. Players can exchange their crystals for rewards – but they’ll want to be careful about it as getting greedy can result in the Cube getting mad and destroying unclaimed rewards to punish them.
In addition to dropping the Desire Crystals, defeated mobs can also drop Desire Cores, which are used to access the Season Boss. Known as The Law Breaker, this boss is one of the game's most difficult battles. The good news is that there are special rewards for those who manage to beat him.
In additional news, for those of you interested in it, XD Games also posted an interview with David Brevik, creator of Diablo and consulting producer on Torchlight: Infinite.
