WoW To Introduce New Trading Post Feature On PTR Soon, Will Bring Rotating Monthly Activities To Earn Cosmetics
"This is just the start of what we hope will be a rewarding new system for players to further personalize their character."
Coming on the PTR soon, Blizzard plans to introduce a new Trading Post feature to World of Warcraft. By completing rotating monthly activities or simply logging into the game, players can build up a unique currency that allows them to earn distinctive cosmetics, mounts, pets, and new items every month.
A new set of traders - Tawny and Wilder (T&W) and Zen'shiri Trading Posts - will move into the capital cities of Stormwind and Orgrimmar when the feature goes live. Specifically, T&W will be outside the Mage District and Zen'shiri Trading Post near Grommash Hold.
Both shops will display new items of the current month with literal mannequins dressed in transmogs, pets roaming around them, and mounts secured in a nearby stable. A quick stroll by will generally tell you what is available, but you can speak with them to get the entire list of the current month's wares.
According to Blizzard, the Trading Post feature "will serve as a home for many more items from across Azeroth - and beyond - and is not limited by the current game content." With this in mind, players will have a nice handful of interesting transmogs, pets, and mounts to combine for whatever style suits them. But to obtain these cosmetics, players must acquire a new account-wide currency called "Trader's Tender."
There are two ways to get the currency. One is completing monthly activities in the Traveler's Log to earn up to 500 Trader's Tender. The other way automatically gives players who log in and head to the Trading Post 500 currency every month from a Collector's Cache chest. However, the final Trader's Tender amounts are subject to change after PTR.
For the Traveler's Log activities, they will rotate monthly. On the plus side, since players can only gain a certain amount of Tender within a month, continuing to play the game regularly across quests, battlegrounds, holiday festivities, and so on will contribute to earning Tender. But there will also be the choice of participating in themed activities uniquely designed for the month to gain Tender.
Blizzard hopes the system will help players "further personalize their character and their experiences within World of Warcraft." As of this writing, they are looking toward adding even more ways for players to "add to their collections and express themselves everywhere they go in Azeroth."

Note: Activision Blizzard is still under investigation by the state of California for serious harassment charges. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about such actions within his company – and performed some himself – and shielded the perpetrators from consequences.
