Dynamight Studios once found itself partnered up with gamigo to bring Fractured Online to the masses, but that partnership eventually split and saw the game pulled from Steam sales as the devs decided to rework quite a few aspects of the open-world, action combat MMO.

Fast forward to today and you can finally jump into Fractured Online's totally free-to-play (with an optional VIP subscription).

Fractured Online attempts to mix some of the combat features of RPGs into an open-world sandbox. Your character can learn over 400 abilities and mix and match them any way you like to meet new challenges. You'll even find yourself learning some abilities from monsters you defeat along the way.

If you want better weapons, though, you're either going to need to make them yourself or purchase them. Every item in the game is crafted by players. Want to become rich by buying or creating at low prices and selling your goods in certain markets that sell high? Go for it, just make sure you don't die along the way.

This "player economy" even extends to settlements and cities as players band together in guilds and alliances. You may find yourself the leader of an economic hub...but that also means someone may want to take you down. Be ready to defend your cities.

Other PvP options include organized tournaments and leaderboards if fighting for cities isn't your thing.
