Alan Wake Dead By Daylight

As crossovers go, this one makes a lot of sense. Writer Alan Wake, who is no stranger to supernatural darkness, is joining the ranks of the survivors in Dead By Daylight on January 30th. There's a limited-time public test build on Steam right now where you can try him out if you're impatient.

Alan Wake will feature both the likeness of Ilkka Villi, who plays Wake during live-action scenes, and the voice of Matthew Porretta, who has voiced Wake throughout the franchise.

“Since it first launched back in 2010, Alan Wake has been a huge influence to us on the Dead by Daylight team,” says Mathieu Coté, head of partnerships at Behaviour Interactive. “From broad themes to specific elements, both our games already feel connected in many ways. This is a character we always thought would be right at home in the Dead by Daylight universe. To finally see Alan come to the Fog as a Survivor feels like a full-circle moment, especially as the recently released second entry in the franchise is still fresh in player’s minds.”

Along with this update for the horror game comes the "Lights Out" modifier, where survivors will be stripped of several key tools they're used to using. It will be coming to the game for a limited time over the upcoming weeks.

Alan Wake comes to Dead By Daylight on all available platforms on January 30th.
