Eleon Game Studios Teams Up With Funcom For Empyrion Universe's First Ever Expansion
An expansion and an unannounced game are in the works.
Fans of Eleon’s sandbox survival game Empyrion will be interested to know that the developer has signed a publishing deal with Funcom. Not only will this aid in the continued development of the game, but it will also expand its universe. While Eleon focuses on development, Funcom will provide funding in addition to its publishing services.
The good news for players is that there are already projects in the works. In fact, the first-ever Empyrion – Galactic Survival expansion is on its way. Titled Dark Faction, it’s expected to drop on both Steam and the Epic Games Store on February 6. This expansion will introduce new mechanics and materials to the game. It will also improve melee combat.
The other project is an unannounced title. We probably won’t know what this is for a while, but it’s probably a good bet that it’s not just a second expansion.
