Let’s travel back in time a bit. The year is 2012. I’m working at MMOBomb, mostly on the video side of things, and Bigpoint has purchased the Game of Thrones IP for an MMO. We’re really impressed by the score and didn’t see Bigpoint as the company likely to grab the coveted IP. Later that year we got our first trailer for their free to play browser game and were suitably unimpressed.
Fast forward now back to today and we’re three years later with neither hide nor hair of the Game of Thrones MMO. Bigpoint still hasn’t forgotten about it though and is seeking a few new hires to help bring the browser/mobile game to life.
Game-Develop is reporting that Bigpoint needs a number of positions filled including a Technical Artist, a Lead 3D Artist, and even a Senior Live Producer. If you’ve got what it takes, apply now to try and make sure they don’t screw this one up…although with browser and mobile being the method of delivery, my hopes are already dashed and were 3 years ago.
game of thrones is like The Bold and The Beautiful with dragons and wrinkled snowmen, what good could something this pitiful can brin to the MMO genre besides more casualismB
oh god no please no just no. the expectation for this mmo is lower than how my poo is gonna look like when i will take my next shit.
Browser/mobile game? Sounds like it’s going to be cash grab garbage.
I would play GOT MMORPG if it had Witcher 3 graphics, combat similar to assassin’s creed, and story from all the books, nothing to be left out. I want 1 city to be as big as wows elwynn forest not just tiny stormwind with no place for player housing. And i want the iron throne to look as it should be.
prepare for massive disappointment
They’re saying that’s what they would want, not what they expect. I am now disappointed in YOU!
Secondly, Assassin’s Creed combat isn’t all that bad. Everyone praises Batman’s combat, yet it was the spawn of AC combat, only Rocksteady did it better.
“Assassin’s creed combat” hahah plz
