The Cycle Adds Story Missions And New "Navigator" Feature
The latest release of YAGER's shooter The Cycle has arrived. That's update #6 for those keeping count. As with most updates, this one makes a variety of changes to gameplay, balance, and quality of life -- with the typical fix here and there. Most notable among the changes implemented this week is the addition of a new contract type -- Story Missions.
Story Missions are a solo mode contract type that will allow players to learn more about the game's lore while unlocking rewards and additional XP. They're not available immediately, however. Players will need to earn access to them by evac-ing three times. Once that's been accomplished players will receive a message from Badum in their inbox unlocking the mode.
Also added this time around is the new "The Navigator" feature. This feature adjusts the game's HUD to allow players to better see where objectives are located. The Scoreboard and contract info can also bee seen from there.
In additional news, players can get a taste of the game's new Map 2 -- which will be included in upcoming seasonal content -- as part of a public playtest tomorrow. The test will run from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM Pacific time. The new map is designed to be more vertical and includes four different biomes: forest, farmland, rocky plains, and desert. There's also a town center with bars and a spaceship. (Not sure why the spaceship is in town when everyone knows they like to land in rural areas.)
