Darkpaw Reveals The Rules Players Chose For EverQuest’s Upcoming Frostreaver Server
The rules cover everything from expansions to how quickly players should be able to gain experience.

As Darkpaw works toward rolling out the Frostreaver server in EverQuest, they’re really taking what players of the free-to-play MMORPG want into account. As a result, when the new server launches, it will have a set of rules determined by the players in a series of polls. Last week, the devs shared the results of those polls, which covered three main topics: expansion unlocks, special rules, and bonuses.
The expansion unlocks cover what will be available at server launch, whether or not the server should stop unlocking expansions, standard unlock periods, and more. For those wondering, Standard - Scars of Velious Launch will be available when the server opens, and expansion unlocks will continue until the server catches up with the live version of the game. In addition, expansions will unlock every 8 weeks.
As for special rules, the server will not have Truebox, and clients per computer will be unrestricted. The server will not have open PvP and will have Encounter Locking. Experience gain will be as fast as possible, and levels will not be locked. Players also voted to have evolving bonuses, randomized loot, challenge achievements, and more.
