DayZ’s Latest Update Focuses On Accessibility And Crafting
Changes include new control settings, a VOIP upgrade, and other improvements.
Today, Bohemia Interactive dropped a shiny new update for its zombie survival game Day Z across all platforms. Rather than adding a ton of playable content, this update focuses primarily on accessibility and crafting. Two of the bigger additions in this update are new control and sensitivity settings, and a VOIP UI upgrade. The first will allow players to adjust the sensitivity of their controls for aiming, moving, steering, and more. There is even an alternative control scheme provided. On the VOIP front, icons will now only show while transmitting, a push to talk is being added, and VOIP distance can be changed on the controller.
The other big news in this update is crafting. New fashion items including an improvised gas mask filter, a belt made out of rope, and a cookware stand have all been added. In addition, bones can now be turned into bone knives.
A few new non-crafted items have been added as well. These include several melee weapons like a meat tenderizer, a cleaver, and a pitchfork. Some new guns are in play, including the CR-500 Savanna and the .308 Longhorn pistol.
