Apparently, there are some great improvements on the way as well.

Avengers Thor

Today Square Enix announced to the Marvel's Avengers faithful that the upcoming update 2.4 will bring some "great improvements to the event system," and that the later 2.5 will introduce the next playable hero, Jane Foster: The Mighty Thor. No official date has been set for either of these releases. You may have to wait until May for 2.4...but there isn't a date for Jane Foster.

To give you an idea of what "great improvements" are in store for Marvel's Avengers, it's basically a rework on events like Cosmic Threat, Tachyon Anomaly, and Corrupted Vibranium. By changing the systems behind the events, Square hopes to make them way more rewarding. Combining the improved game loop introduced in the last patch, Square believes that "these new rewards will make a meaningful change of pace for veteran players and a great way to gear up for newer players."

Besides some tweaks here and there, it seems the star of the show, Jane Foster, is deep in the background of this dev blog by Square Enix. Judging from the recent release of the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer, it's easy to put two-and-two together here. We all know Marvel's Avengers has been struggling player-wise, even more so with all the negative press it received out the gate. While I'm curious how Square intends to mix Foster's core comic book identity into their game, it was a bit too early to show this hand without any footage of Mjolnir cracking some heads.
