DCUO Tweaking Weapons And Artifacts, Including One That's "Twice As Good As Any Other"
Real superheroes rely on their innate abilities to combat the forces of evil, but sometimes you need a little help. Even Superman used a big flaming sword once.
The weapons and artifacts of DC Universe Online are getting a balance pass. "Most weapon attacks were not appropriately powerful," the dev blog stated, thanks to the "most out of line artifact," the Venom Wrist Dispenser, which was "easily twice as good as any other artifact."
To compensate, less powerful artifacts and weapons will be buffed while more powerful ones will be nerfed, including the Venom Wrist Dispenser -- no surprises there. All players will receive a gift consisting of a regular Seal of Completion, a set of catalysts, and a Perfected Nth Metal worth 50,000 Artifact XP, while owners of the Dispenser will get a boost to the item's level.
Given the complicated nature of DCUO's combat, the team is looking for all kinds of feedback regarding the changes, which you can learn more about on the DCUO site.
