Elite Dangerous: Odyssey Devs "Confident" Update 14 Will Be Ready By The End Of November
Throughout November, the devs "hope" to share further insight on the update.
Developer Frontier Developments has updated fans in their recent "Discover Scanner" blog series that Elite Dangerous: Odyssey will see Update 14 by the end of November. The devs were "confident" to share the projected release time and "hope to be able to share further insight into the update" with fans throughout November.
Update 14 is a long-time-coming patch that Senior Producer Samantha Marsh at Frontier told PC Gamer would escalate "the Thargoid threat, to the extent [players] have not seen before...and it's definitely safe to say the galaxy won't be the same." The alien threat will continue growing as a new enemy originates on Earth. With a focus on adding more updates and changes to the "evolving" universe of Odyssey, the devs hope to shape a new and unique experience without completely overhauling the whole galaxy.
The recent blog also announced the returning Frameshift Live Halloween stream on October 20 at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time. During the stream, fans will have the chance to gain the "Malevolent Ghoul" Halloween-themed paint skin for the Cobra MKIII, Anaconda, Python, and ASP Explorer ships. Every 15 minutes spent watching the stream live will award viewers each individually. Additionally, players can earn the seasonal Autumn Drop paint jobs and receive gift codes that unlock the Noctule Hex paint job bundle.
