Epic Games Introduces Paragon Founder's Packs, Promises The Game Will Never Be Pay-To-Win
Epic Games' shooter Paragon is nearing early access and that means it's time for the Founder's Packs. Paragon Creative Director Steve Superville announced on Reddit that the packs will be made available for purchase on March 14, with Early Access kicking off on March 18.
All players who purchase the packs will have guaranteed access to the game's earliest incarnation, as well as a variety of skins, boosts and cosmetic items, determined by the tier of pack bought. There are three different purchasing options.
Founder's Packs - $19.99

- Cosmetic Items
Challenger Packs - $59.99
- Early Access
- Huge number of skins
- Unlockable Items
- Boosts
- Unique Skin
- Founder's Pack for a friend
Master Packs - $99.99
- Early Access
- Huge number of skins
- Unlockable Items
- Boosts
- Unique Skin
- Founder's Pack for a friend
What the main difference between the Challenger and Master Packs are isn't entirely clear at this point.
In addition to the reveal of the Founder's Packs, Superville also announced that all heroes will be offered to players for free, while all cards will be earned in game. He notes that, "the game will never be pay-to-win, meaning [they] will never sell gameplay-affecting items." They will however offer cosmetic items, including skins, emotes, boosts, and other convenience items.
