Nexon Celebrates The First Descendant’s First Anniversary With New Season 3 Details And Crossover Announcement
The game’s first ever collaboration brings NieR: Automata’s 2B and A2 to the fight.
Believe it or not, Nexon’s looter-shooter The First Descendant is officially a year old. To celebrate the anniversary, the developer hosted the “Descendant Fest 2025” livestream yesterday evening. During the stream, the team offered new details on the upcoming Season 3 update scheduled to launch on August 7.
The stream offered a look at the Axion Plains field that will serve as the main stage for the upcoming update. It is there that players will engage in large-scale battles and explore new dungeons. To explore this massive area, players will have access to a Hover Bike.
Another bit of content shown during the stream is the new Descendant, Nell. This Descendant uses telekinetic abilities to mark enemies in combat, dealing enhanced damage to them. Nell can also provide allies with both shields and buffs.
Players can also look forward to the game’s first-ever collaboration featuring 2B and A2 from NieR: Automata. Skins, animations, and other cosmetics based on the two characters will be available.
Speaking of collaborations. Nexon is also collaborating with Spotify, where players will be able to listen to the game’s original soundtrack. Those who listen via the music platform will receive a special Spotify Name Card and two new paints.
