Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore future

Last week, Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore announced that it had parted ways with publisher Freedom Games. It promised that the team would continue to work towards developing the game as an independent studio and looked forward to bringing the quality of Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore up to player standards.

Today the Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore team put out a projection of what players can expect from the team and the MMORPG going forward. They refer to the game as being a "passion project" once again, and state that they do not currently have a set launch date for a new version of the game. They reiterate that they are dedicated to releasing quality updates for Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore, and that they are proceeding towards setting up new servers and preparing for a fresh launch.

The game will be, and actually no is already, free-to-play, dropping the subscription fee.

Team member Robin will be out of the studio for an extended amount of time dealing with personal family issues, and this will keep the small team from being able to push out updates for the foreseeable future. The team is supporting this time away and giving Robin the time they need.

Based on the current Steam reviews, the Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore team has a long way to go toward making the game into something players enjoy.
