Evaverse Looks Like A Shinier, Newer Second Life
The “social immersion” platform launched on Steam as free-to-play.
Evaverse, a social platform from developer/publisher of the same name, launched on Steam. According to the game’s description, it’s intended to be an “ever-evolving digital landscape” to be shaped by the players. In fact, one of its features is that players will be able to vote on future game mechanics and playstyles as development continues. At launch, players are able to host their own servers.
Aside from the ability for players to create their own servers, the game doesn’t seem to offer too much as of yet. It does, however, include a voice chat option and five mini-games: Railgun, Low Gravity, Bowling, Soccer, and Tag. The last three speak for themselves. Railgun allows players to shoot and stun each other from across the map. Low Gravity allows players to climb to the highest point in the maps by modifying their gravity settings.
Of course, we did have one question about the game – the same question about any platform that allows players to create their own stuff. TTP? The answer was, “Not long.” In fact, the first review on the Steam page reads as follows: “5 people running around doing nothing, 1 guy showing others pictures of his penis collection.” So yeah, be warned...but hey it's also free-to-play!
