Fast-Paced MOBA Tome: Immortal Arena Coming To Steam
Hey, look, another MOBA. At least this one's got something resembling a plan to attract players.
Kixeye's Tome: Immortal Arena bills itself as an "action-first brawler" that "has been strategically designed to make the MOBA genre fun and exciting, while eliminating unintuitive elements." Those "unintuitive elements" include last-hitting, returning to base, and complex item crafting, while the matches themselves are expected to be in the 10-20 minute range.
In other words, it looks like Tome is trying to go for the more "casual MOBA" crowd, which isn't a bad strategy. That's basically how Heroes of the Storm is being viewed, and Blizzard generally knows what it's doing. In addition to the usual promises, like hard-hitting action and a faster pace, Kixeye also says there's a "genre-expanding 7x7 map" in the works.
Tome: Immortal Arena heads to Steam on Nov. 21.
