Moogles And Mountains: Final Fantasy XIV Kicks Off Two Events This Week
They also explain tomestone changes for Endwalker for players unfamiliar with how expansions change things.
As one event ends, another (or two) begins. We hope all you Final Fantasy XIV players who wanted the Regalia mount managed to get it. If not, there’s always next time, and until then, there’s always more to do. In this case, we have both the Moogle Treasure Trove and Breaking Brick Mountains events to keep us occupied for a while. Both events begin tomorrow.
The Moogle Treasure Trove event will reward players who complete various objectives with Irregular Tomestones which can then be traded to the Itinerant Moogles for neat stuff – including cosmetics, mounts, minions, maps, Triple Triad cards, and orchestrion rolls. As you’d probably expect, the objectives consist of dungeons, raids, trials, and some PvP, and different activities offer a different number of tomestones. You’re going to need a lot if you want everything. Rewards cost anywhere between 1 and 100 tomestones and there are fifty items on the list. The good news is that the event will run until the arrival of 6.0 on November 23rd.
The Breaking Brick Mountains event is a seasonal quest-based event. Players will need to pick up the original quest in Ul’dah by speaking to Havak Alvak of the Mythril Eye. He’ll tell you about strange new golems and where to locate them. Then it’s a matter of participating in the various associated FATEs. Items available during this event include two cosmetic head pieces and a minion. You don’t have quite as much time to complete this particular event. It will come to a close on November 11, but there shouldn’t be any problem getting it done.
On an additional note, the XIV team announced the tomestone changes players should expect when 6.0 drops. If you’ve got Tomestones of Allegory, Revelation, or Phantasmagoria sitting around, you’ll probably want to get those traded in – if not for the items then for Poetics – before 6.0 launches and they’re removed.
