Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 Gets Prettier With UE 5.1 And Adds In Geralt As Part Of The Witcher Crossover
We're sure you can hop into the bathtub, and with all new performance.
Time once again for a new chapter in Fortnite as Chapter 4 Season 1 kicks off. Chapter 3's conclusion saw the creation of a new island complete with plenty of new locations to visit and loot. The battle royale also sees a new makeover utilizing features of Unreal Engine 5.1 to use Nanite to enhance the game's environment, Lumen enhancing reflections, and (bad news on this one) drop native support for Windows 7 and 8. If you aren't on at least Windows 10, you'll want to upgrade soon. While the next-gen update is looking great, be aware that some players are reporting initial performance issues still.
In game sees the addition of not only a new island, though. Dirt bike steeds provide new traversal methods, Reality Augments that will enhance your combat prowess the longer you stay in a match, the ability to hurdle over obstacles while running, and, of course, new weapons, foods, and rewards. Take a look at the entire list on the Fortnite site.
Midway through the season pass you'll also see Geralt pop up as CD Projekt Red and Epic Games cross over. Seems like The Witcher is showing up everywhere, lately.
