Go Ape With Epic Games' Latest Free Offering
I mean it. Epic Games Store's latest free game selection will have you playing an ape trying to escape your captors using everything available to you -- as an ape. Ape Out is a smash 'em up from indie developers Gabe Guzzillo, Bennett Foddy, and Matt Boch (Can't really get any more indie than a game made by three dudes without a company name) and published by Devolver Digital.
The game is pretty much what it sounds like. Try to escape ape jail by bashing your way through obstacles and enemies as quickly as you can. As an added bonus, your captors can be used as weapons and shields. Good times.
Normally, the game runs about $15, but for today only you can grab it for free. Of course, there will be a new offering tomorrow, and even on Christmas Day. Unfortunately, they're not telling us what these will be ahead of time.
