Magic The Gathering Online Commander Masters Is Officially Live
The CMM booster packs sell for $5 each.
Yesterday, Wizards of the Coast and Daybreak games added Commander Masters to Magic the Gathering Online – following a brief downtime – introducing two leagues: Commander Masters Keeper Draft League, and Commander Masters Phantom Draft League.
The Keeper Draft league has several entry options. Players will need either 12 event tickets, or 3 Commander Masters boosters with 2 event tickets, or 120 play points to enter. Prizes are based on Votes cast as players are eliminated or when the game ends. The same vote method applies to the Phantom Draft League which only has two entry options: 4 event tickets or 40 play points. In both cases, votes will earn players a certain amount of boosters and play points. Those numbers are detailed in the CMM announcement post.
The card game's draft format has players drawing two cards at a time to build a 60-card deck that includes either a single commander or two with the partner ability. Players only play the cards with their commanders’ color identity. Having multiples of the same card is allowed.
Commander Masters comes in 20-card booster packs that can be bought from the MTGO Store at $5 each. Each pack contains two rares and/or mythics, plus a non-common of any rarity and a premium foil.
