Magic: Legends Reveals More Details About Monster Spawn System Known As "Director"
In another behind the scenes look at the development of Magic: Legends, the game's dev team is highlighting the system that controls how enemies spawn in the game -- including which ones spawn, as well as where and when. Named "Director" internally, the system monitors player progress and attempts to create situations that are challenging while not being ridiculously impossible. Ideally, it changes things up enough to make playing the game a more entertaining experience for players.
In the blog post detailing the Director system, the developers address how it affects things like story pacing, the variety of monsters spawned, and how they tie in to what's currently going on thematically. For those of you interested in the technical side of things, it's an interesting post. Those wanting to read it can find it on the Arc Games site.
