Today we got news from Intrepid Studios, creators of the upcoming Ashes of Creation, through their monthly dev update that showcased footage of a work-in-progress character creation screen.

While an early look, you'll be able to see a ton of flexibility when it comes to facial features, hairstyles, body shapes, and much more. The UI for the system isn't final, though, and there are more features left out as well. Despite that, it doesn't overshadow its potential and, frankly, this update might help give the dev team an idea of what players might feel about it.

But that's not all they showed off. Intrepid also revealed 3D models for the Vek race alongside the male Py'Rai facial concept art after gathering loads of player feedback. Also, if you're interested, don't miss out on getting the Secrets of Shadeglen limited cosmetics before April 6. You have until that day at 11:00 a.m. Pacific to grab them before those unique items disappear. Although, if you owned a previous pre-order package, or are a Kickstarter or Summer backer, you can add them to Ashes of Creation's monthly pre-order packages as add-ons.

Trying to be one of the more community-focused game development studios out there, Intrepid is always willing to hear suggestions and feedback on its forums. It is refreshing to see their involvement and acknowledgment of player feedback throughout their long development cycle. If you have feedback or want to hop on the bandwagon, don't hesitate to jump on their forums to discuss what might make the game better!
