PoE Mirage Reveal

As promised, Grinding Gear Games revealed the content of Path of Exile’s Mirage update today during GGG Live. In the update dropping on PC and console on March 6, players will help the Maraketh Sekhema fight a rogue sect of the Faridun known as the Afarud and free her Djinn from their slavery.

The Afarud are the worst of the Faridun and have formed a pact with the necromancer Saresh. They are trying to control the power of the Djin and use it in a war against the Maraketh. Luckily, players will have help in dealing with the group, as the Sekhema mentioned above, Varashta, will be there to assist. In exchange, players will be granted wishes for their aid.

Mirage introduces a new Challenge League to the free-to-play ARPG. During this League, players will encounter the souls of Djinn trapped by the Afarud. Setting them free will require players to enter a mirage of the Djinn project and fight their way through to the tether, keeping them trapped. As a reward, players are then able to choose a wish, which seems to come in several varieties.

Another task players will take on during Mirage is to restore Maraketh artefacts stolen by the Afarud. The items have been changed over time with Afarud magic. Players can choose to repair them or use them as is if their current state is of more use.

A full rundown of the features of the new League is available in the Content Reveal video below.
