New Free-To-Play Sandbox Isometric Retro MMORPG Illarion Is Now Live
The game is open-source, and non-profit.
Illarion is a free-to-play sandbox MMORPG that emphasizes deep player interaction and character development.
Set in a rich fantasy world filled with mystery and lore, the game encourages players to come up with their own unique backstory, personality, and goals. You also choose a path, such as a knight, craftsman, merchant, or priest. There are three factions to pick from, too: Cadomyr, Galmair, or Runewick. Then, the adventure begins.
Illarion does not have a class system. Instead, the game offers a flexible, skill-based leveling system that allows players to build characters based on their choices and playstyles. Your actions carry weight, influencing events and shaping the in-game world over time. So you could forge alliances for example, or clash with rivals. Illarion is all about creativity and decision-making, emphasizing a personalized experience.
The game is open-source, maintained by a dedicated team of volunteers without profit, according to the official website. Illarion features isometric retro graphics with modern technologies and mechanics that balance depth and accessibility.
