New Multiplayer Shoot 'Em Up Party Game With Magical Girls Announced: "MAGIC CHAOS"
It's like a bullet hell, but with PvP and cuties.
A new multiplayer shoot 'em up party game has been announced…and it’s got magical girls.
MAGIC CHAOS is set to launch for PC via Steam on March 8, announced publisher Phoenixx and developer SUPER STARMINE. Players can choose from eight cute yet deadly heroines, each with distinct magical abilities. The game features vibrant arenas where participants engage in a multiplayer extravaganza, aiming to be the last girl standing. Characters we now know of are Rabi, Zophie, Showdown, and Necromance; they possess unique skills like icy damage, teleportation, trickery, and overwhelming offensive onslaught.
“The bullet hell genre has been known for its difficulty, but our love for online multiplayer led us to create a unique take on the genre,” said Machicoh, head of the development team, in a press release. “MAGIC CHAOS is a blast to play, and is surprisingly deep with many different strategies.”
MAGIC CHAOS encourages players to make strategic use of each character's abilities, main skills, and swappable sub-skills to create distinct fighting styles. The game offers various bullet types, including slow-bullets, faster sniper bullets, spreading shotgun-like blasts, and 360-degree cluster bombs. Players can use arena obstacles strategically, creating cutoff points and corralling enemies into corners. Victories unlock new characters, attack patterns, and arenas.
