New World Blog Updates Players On Character Transfers, Economy, And More
It's a big, big post with lots of info.
If you want to know what the latest deal with Amazon’s New World is, it’s definitely a good idea to hit up the dev blog on the game’s forums. Recently, one of the game’s community managers dropped a bit of a round-up of where everything stands with the game. Some of it we all definitely already know – such as them adding a Full Server status to the game to keep players from further congesting servers - or the latest status on character transfers. That’s up, by the way.
That said, the post covers quite a bit more information in one place than any previous post. This includes adjustments to the game’s economy (with neat graphs for the math people in the room). They go into a good bit of detail explaining the balance of gold obtained versus gold spent on the server and note that the goal is to keep everything in check. Right now there appears to be a downward trend in the gold players generate and that’s less than ideal. For now, they’re watching it, but may take action if the trend continues.
On a related topic, which is probably what’s causing some of the trends they’re worrying about, the post goes on to address economic exploits and how their attempts to fix one generated another. This is something they’re continuing to work on and the next patch will include several changes intended to help fix this.
The post also addresses issues and questions revolving around bugs discovered by players and even goes into a rather in-depth discussion on how the game’s simulation works – mostly that it is entirely server-based. Other topics include moderation, lag during war, how luck works, using images in chat, and several more.
Honestly, there’s just so much in the post on the site that it would be impossible to summarize all of it here. So, if you want to know about everything – like the crouching bug – hit up the New World forums.
