New World June Dev Video

Yesterday, Amazon dropped another of their monthly dev update videos for New World. The video offers players a brief look at what’s next on the game’s roadmap – including plans for the July PTR. Two things of note on the upcoming PTR are the Summer Medleyfaire and the Barnacles & Black Powder Expedition. The latter introduces new bosses while the former gives players the opportunity to flex their musical muscles.

Of course, updates mean adjustments and changes in addition to new content. A big change in store for players is the removal of tuning orbs. The removal of these orbs is intended to make Expeditions more accessible to players. That said, they’re not just being removed. They’re being replaced with a limiter system.

The team has also been busy making changes to more than 150 perks in the game. The good news is that they’ve all been buffed. No nerfs this time. The idea is that they’ll offer players more flexibility in their layout. They’ve made changes to the loot system as well, providing a way to reduce the randomness of Expedition Boss loot. Now, players can salvage named Expedition items to receive a new resource for crafting what they actually want.

Finally, the team is also making adjustments to trade skill progression, increasing the speed of some, while adjusting others so they grant more experience for specific crafts. All the changes were detailed in full in the latest stream, which can be viewed below.
