New World 2021 End Video

New World has had an interesting first few months and despite the problems the game has had, it seems the devs are ready to roll into 2022 with an eye on the future. Over the weekend, the game’s dev team posted a fairly in-depth video discussing the future of the game, what they hope to do, and what’s definitely being planned. They also spent a bit of time discussing the game’s various issues and what they plan to do about them. And, while they were there, they revealed the game’s Winter Convergence holiday event, which is going on now.

Out of everything, they elected to make one point immediately: New World is a game where they hope to not only have PvP and PvE players existing in the same game, but actively complementing each other with their playstyle. As they point out, there’s still work to be done there. One area mentioned was providing a way for players to overthrow dictators or absent leaders – an important thing if you want to keep things moving for all players involved.

On the new content front, the devs discussed “Mutators”. These are augments to the game’s AI in expeditions that exist on rotations and offer players a variety of challenges. These can be used to test gear and power level, as well as increase power level. There will, of course, be new weapons being added as well so Mutators will be a good way for players to test those out.

Other topics covered in the video are things like late-game progression and quests and lore. The video itself is an hour and a half long. There’s a lot that they went over there. Those of you wanting to know what the future of the game will look like might want to set aside some time to watch it.
