Arknights Endfield Launch Details

Arknights: Endfield seems to be doing pretty okay since it launched. And that’s not just based on general observation – although I can say most of my core gaming group is playing it. Today, Gryphline posted a DEV Comm on the free-to-play RTS ARPG’s site and shared some in-game numbers with players. No, they didn’t give actual player numbers. (Does anyone really do that?) Instead, they dropped a few stats about the activity in-game, particularly around the RTS portion.

According to the post, players have been pretty busy laying power lines, and as of February 1, more than 42 million meters of line had been laid by all the players in the game. Of course, we’ve all been doing work since then, so that number’s gone up. We just don’t know how much. The post also notes that more than 23 million shared facilities (facilities that can be put down in one player’s game instance and be seen, used, and repaired by other players in their games) have been placed. Of those facilities, one in particular has received more than 4 million repairs. So, yeah. Players have been engaged and busy.

The post also informed players of an update that will be taking place tomorrow (February 5). The update features a series of optimizations for things like enemy stats, early game Operator progression support, AIC factory control optimizations, map improvements, and more. These improvements are intended to improve the early game and exploration experience. As a result, enemy levels for exploration levels 6 and 7 will be lowered by ten, but still drop the same loot, and players will receive items needed for crafting gear when hitting specific levels. These changes will obviously benefit those who didn’t push their way through before the update, but it’s still going to be a boon.

One thing that will benefit everyone is the Designation Selection Permit that players will receive for completing the main mission, Chapter I Process I: Break the Siege. This permit will be delivered via in-game mail and allow players to choose one of the six star Operators in the Basic Headhunting banner. That would be the Five Sparks. So, if, like me, you’ve been trying to get a specific character out of that banner and have been receiving anyone but that one, you’ll now be able to claim the one you actually want.
