New World March Dev Update Video Blasts Blunderbuss Info, Views Vistas, And Flaunts Future Seasons
Topics include weapons and combat, upcoming events, and community stuff.
Today, Amazon dropped a New World dev video offering players a look at what’s coming in the March update as well as insight into weapons and combat, and a rundown of upcoming events. (Or, what they’re calling events. It really seems to be just new little bits of content that players can discover throughout the game. And a Twitch drop because developers think Twitch drops are events now.)
First up on the stream with the March deep dive. In this section, they discussed a new expedition known as Tempest’s Heart. This is a Mark Guard expedition and the finale of the Isabella Ark. They also revealed that a new weapon is being added to the game, the Blunderbuss. They go into a bit more detail on this particular weapon in the second segment and discuss the differences between it and the musket. One difference is that it’s a mid-range weapon instead of a long-range one. It also scales off of strength.
As mentioned, a portion of the stream was spent on events. Based on the descriptions, some of these seem to be more nifty little additions to the game than what we normally think of as events. One example is the addition of vistas that players can visit. There are at least two in each zone and visiting them will earn players paintings to put in their houses.
Two events have players looking for specific NPCs in search of loot. The first NPC is the loot goblin Rafflebones. Rafflebones likes to collect stuff and players who can find him and defeat him will get some of that stuff. The other character will be familiar to players who were around for the Stinky bug. Stinky the Hunter is back, with an all-new shack. Again, track him down and take his stuff. (There shouldn’t be any server crashing bugs related to him this time.
Finally, the stream continues with a good bit of community stuff and some Q&A. And, at the end they dropped another road map. This one covers Spring, Summer, and Autumn, and includes the addition of new weapons, PvP content, a summer event, and more.
