Old-School MMORPG Genfanad Set To Officially Release This Month, Ongoing Beta Receives Last Content Update
"The Warriors of Oz" patch brings new locations, enemies, NPCs, and...Dorothy?
Between a successful Kickstarter campaign and debuting in OTK's Games Expo in June, Rose-Tinted Games has seen a healthy player base supporting Genfanad and is ready to make the next big step. The light-hearted, old-school MMORPG will officially release on September 27 on Steam and browsers.
According to the devs, the upcoming release won't "follow a 'big bang' launch schedule" but instead come out in a smaller state that will slowly grow, amass player feedback, and become refined. Though, this doesn't mean new content won't be coming in. On release day, the devs have four months' worth of weekly updates planned out. But before September 27 rolls around, testers can enjoy the last content update for the current beta.

"The Warriors of Oz" introduces a questline following the classical story of Dorothy and her journey to find the yellow brick road. Players will help assemble her iconic crew, meet the Wizard, and take down the Wicked Witch. While the direction of the patch references the fairytale, the devs have some curveballs and surprises alongside new locations to explore, enemies, and NPCs for players to experience. For those without beta access, Rose-Tinted Games has a solution.
There are plenty of events coming throughout September, such as weekly blog posts featuring team interviews every Monday and quizzes and games running on the server every Tuesday from noon to 9:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Tuesday's event rewards fans with Discord perks, and top participants will be entered in a giveaway to win a beta key.
