Overwatch 2’s 19th Season Kicks Off A Haunted Masquerade
The update also introduces new powers for several characters.
Today, Blizzard dropped the Season 19 update in Overwatch 2. The new season, titled Haunted Masquerade, kicks off the free-to-play team shooter’s 2025 Halloween festivities. During the event, players will be able to dress their heroes up as other heroes from the game. Players choose from masks bearing the faces of the game’s various heroes and in doing so are also granted a unique ability from the hero represented by the mask.
The devs have also created special combos that can be obtained by pairing a specific hero’s mask with the hero actually being played. An example given is that if Brigita wears Reinhardt’s mask, she can then team up with the actual Reinhardt in their party and increase their shield size.
Season 19 also includes balance changes and the heroes, Sojurn, Hazard, and Torbjörn are all receiving new powers and items. Gadgets are also being introduced in the Stadium via the Armory. Lifeweaver is getting a new druid-themed skin, and new items are available in the shop as well.
