Partake in PvP Rewards And A New PvP Arena In New World’s Latest Update
With a very PvP heavy update, it looks like New World is returning to their roots.
New World Arenas Update is live today and is bringing with it PvP, reward tracks, new expedition mutators, episode 2 of Varangian Knights, and lastly, adding player-selected pronouns on top of all the usual bug fixes.
Step into the Arena and take part in the PvP face off for fame, glory, riches, and maybe even a few housing items. 3v3 Arenas are a small-scale PvP game mode where teams of 3 can face off in a “Best-of-5” contest. First team to win 3 rounds wins. Each round is 2 minutes long and if the battle is lingering, a dangerous ring of fire will enclose the players to push them closer to the center of the arena to force a winner. To start the 3v3 Arenas, players must be a minimum level of 20 to join.
Next on the agenda is the PvP Reward Track which brings with it two new currencies, PvP XP and Azoth Salt. Players can earn these currencies by participating in PvP activities like War, Outpost Rush, PvP Missions, 3v3 Arenas, PvP Open World kills, and fort captures. Players will also be able to earn Azoth Salt when gaining XP while flagged for PvP. As players climb the rewards track they will unlock additional rewards like gear, weapons, emotes, and items. As the players progress, the rewards will get better and better. While players can purchase a maximum of 3 rewards every milestone, if players opt for less than 3, they will receive a small salt boost for the next track. As players climb the PvP Rank, they can earn in-game achievements, titles, and exclusive rewards.
The Depths is now part of the weekly Expedition Mutator rotation. In addition, 3 new mutation types have been added to the pool–Overgrown, Barbaric, and Fiendish–this now makes a total of 27 new combinations. Overgrown focuses on Nature Damage and Resistance, Barbaric focuses on Physical Damage and will add Berserk and Shattering, Fiendish will create curses that focus on the nocturnal. In addition, Fiendish also features Blood Offering which stacks damage over time.
In the newest update players will also be able to continue the story of the Varangian Knights and their conquest for power in the second episode. Players will need to locate Abigail Rose just outside a new Varangian camp at Sorcerers Delve in Everfall to start the second episode quest chain. Lastly, players are now able to select their pronouns that will be reflected in chat. For example, when using an emote, the preferred pronoun will be considered and displayed. Players that would like to continue reading about the May update and get into other notable fixes can always check out the post by New World.
