PSO2: NGS Spring Rappies

Spring is almost here – in the Northern Hemisphere, at least – and that means it's time for new Spring-themed content and events in all our games. Today, Sega announced one such event for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis in addition to the game's next big update. The update is scheduled for April 6th. Before that happens, the developer will be kicking off the Spring Seasonal Event on March 6th.

The seasonal event will offer all-new rewards, new Spring-themed maps for players to enjoy, and more. And, for the first time, the number of seasonal points players are able to earn is unlimited. That means players should have plenty of opportunities to earn special items, like the new 5-star Lumiere weapon with the light attribute. An event-exclusive Scratch Ticket is also one of the rewards players can look forward to. It’s earned by completing various types of quests, including the limited-time Spring Urgent Quest.

It should be noted that the above only counts for half the Spring fun. On March 23rd, the second half of the Spring Event will kick-off. This means players can look forward to even more rewards throughout the month.

As for the actual content update coming April 6th, it will raise the level cap, add a new Photon Art to most weapons, and add new High Ranked Sectors to the game's latest region, Retem. It will also introduce dedicated photo rooms to accommodate players who wish to take photos without having to deal with enemies and weather.

The new level cap will be 45 – which is good because Gigantix is being raised to 49. For those of you wondering which weapons aren't getting the Photon Art, that would be rods, tails, and wands. Instead, they'll be receiving three new types of compound techniques.
