Having already launched Early Access on Steam, The Repopulation is charging full speed ahead and plans to release the Windows version of the free to play game in the 4th quarter of this year. Gamers already playing the sandbox inspired MMORPG can expect the title to be “feature complete” sometime this summer.

Over the past few months, Above and Beyond Technologies has been making a ton of enhancements, tweaks, changes, and updates to the game including a visual overhaul of some key game locations, new dungeons, new minigames, and a plethora of system improvements. Dedicated to letting players play they way they want to play, The Repopulation gives players “the choice to play the game like an RPG or a first/third person shooter. To advance your character through combat or peaceful means. The freedom to craft and harvest without being forced into combat. To act as a hero or a villain. A thief, diplomat, home builder, tamer, crafter, or an entertainer. To participate in Player vs. Player combat or to avoid it altogether.”

Fans of older titles like Star Wars Galaxies and Ultima Online may want to keep their eye on this title as it nears its launch date. That’s not to say that The Repopulation is “old school” though as the MMORPG adds numerous conventions from current titles in the genre while adding in its own interesting takes of some game elements.

Head on over to the official site to get caught up and ready for release.

I bought this pos wasted my money. Mechanics are very jerky and crappy. The map is impossible to figure out. You have to wander around and guess where the quest npc’s are. Crap game

Well lets see it hasn’t officially released so therefore still in Beta testing so things could change. But it is a sandbox game. Part of that includes roaming around finding things. I can’t stand NewGen Gimme Gimme gamers.

    • I thought I wasted my money when I bought this.

That was untill some recent patches that has helped to navigate with the map, you dont have to guess any thing there is a tutorial before you enter the game that explains the basics. You claim the mechanics are jerky which is all part of most alpha/beta games to begin with. Even the pre release servers are always not as good for stress test reasons.

If you want to bash a game you could at least be a little more constructive and people might actually take you seriously.

I would also like to add, any one thinking of buying this then dont expect your typical mmo, It is after all based on star wars galaxies.

The map approach has been updated, as well as the animation, controls and UI. So many updates in the past few months.
