Rewards Track Revamp And Diamond Cards Arrive In Hearthstone's Next Expansion
Hearthstone's much-maligned Rewards Track has seen some needed adjustments since its original, unpopular introduction. Today, Blizzard revealed batch of comprehensive changes that would be made once the next expansion, Forged in the Barrens, goes live on March 30.
Overall, Blizzard has "doubled the number of core reward levels from 50 to 100, and halved the amount of XP required to reach each level." The amount of rewards at each level has also been increased, along with new rewards, including uncraftable golden cards. The new Rewards Track will include packs with cards from Standard sets, the Zuldazar card back, Tavern Tickets, a random Epic card, two random legendary cards, and gold. The legendary minion Mankrik will be available at level one for all players, and the rewards in general seem heavily shifted toward free players.
You can see the complete list of rewards in the post on the Hearthstone site.
Additionally, if golden cards weren't enough bling for you, you can now get diamond legendary cards, featuring new 3-D animations, larger card art, and a stylish border. Blademaster Samuro and Bru'kan will get this treatment in the next expansion, obtainable by purchasing the Forged in the Barrens Tavern Pass (for Samuro) and collecting all legendary cards from the set (for Bru'kan). Three new cosmetic coins are also being offered in this expansion for levels on the Rewards Track with the Tavern Pass and collecting 135 unique Forged in the Barrens cards.
