Summer Game Fest 2025: Splitgate 2 Launches With Battle Royale Mode
Don’t worry, the other modes are still there.

In case you missed the memo somewhere, Splitgate 2 officially launched today. But that’s not all that happened with the game. During the Summer Game Fest stream, 1047 Games showed a new trailer and revealed that not only has the shooter launched, but that it launched with a battle royale mode. Now, those of you who were looking forward to the other modes don’t need to worry. Arena, Onslaught, and The Lab have not been replaced. This is not an all battle-royale game. It’s just an addition.
The mode is designed for 15 teams of 4 that are dropped onto the map via an airship. All players start with a pistol and must collect items from around the map in order to survive. That includes the portal gun. In addition, events can temporarily change gameplay. A full rundown on the mode can be found on the Splitgate 2 site.
