Free-to-play hockey action is headed your way, with today’s launch of Slapshot: Rebound from indie developer Oddshot Games. Slapshot: Rebound’s physics-based gameplay means that there’s nothing to “glue” the puck to your stick, meaning you’ll need precise control and skillful maneuvering to avoid steering the puck into your own net — or, you know to put it into your opponent’s. That’s the idea, though, from my playing experience, I can say that’s harder than it might seem.
Slapshot: Rebound offers matchmaking in 3v3 games against other teams, and you can create custom lobbies with up to 12 players. You can track your progress on leaderboards in a number of categories, and test your skills in various training exercises. The game’s shop offers various customization options, as one might expect.
You can check out Slapshot: Rebound on Steam and, if you’re so inclined, pick up the previous version, simply titled Slapshot, for free as well.
Thanks for the article! I’ve had a blast working on this game and can’t wait for people to see all of the new stuff we’re working on for it 🙂
