Team Fortress 2 Inventories Disabled Following Rarity Bug
There's big news in Team Fortress 2 today. The official Twitter account has woken up for the first time since a retweet in February, and its first original Tweet since March of 2018.
Trading, unboxing, and marketing for TF will be down for a bit while we investigate the recent issue with Unusual drops. We should have an update in the next few hours.

All right, so that's not really the news. Instead, it seems that a bug in the recent summer update has jacked up the drop rate for normally tough-to-get Unusual-rarity items, thus tanking their price in the Steam marketplace. (Remember, though, loot boxes totally aren't gambling.) The issue was first pointed out on Reddit, and Valve has responded by disabling transactions in the game, as indicated by the Tweet above.
Valve has yet to comment on what kind of fix will be implemented to deal with the inventory issues, and whether there will be any punishment handed out to the players who abused the rarity glitch. We just hope that writing two Tweets in one month won't be too much for the poor, overworked social media team.
