The Finals Offers Players A Chance To Relive The Boom-Shooter Days With An Explosive Limited-Time Mode
Blowing things up is serious business.
If there’s one thing gamers love, it’s blowing things up (in-game). In a shooter game like The Finals, it’s definitely serious business, and Embark Studios knows that, which is why the game’s latest update is introducing a limited-time mode named BLAST OFF!. In this mode, low gravity is always on, everyone plays as a Medium with Evasive Dash, and they’re all armed to the teeth with explosives. The whole idea is to blow things up.
As a little extra touch, the devs decided to center the camera position in this mode and pixelate the explosions. Basically, don’t worry that your settings might be off. Just enjoy that old-school feel.
Of course, a limited-time mode comes with rewards, and players have the opportunity to earn twelve free rewards over the next two weeks.
The new mode isn’t the only thing in this update that focuses on destructibility. The 7.3 update introduces improvements intended to make explosives and destruction more realistic. This includes improving the visuals around destroyed objects and implementing adjustments that will allow players to better determine where damage is located.
