The First Descendant Plans Major QoL Updates For October
And swords.

On October 1, Nexon will drop a new update for The First Descendant. The update will add sword weapons to the free-to-play shooter as well as a series of quality-of-life changes. To prepare players for the change, the devs dropped a brief post detailing three improvements of note.
The first is the removal of reactor weapon optimization conditions. This change is intended to make using different weapons easier, as well as make things more accessible for new players. All corresponding menu items and functions will be removed at the same time.
The second thing of note is changes to how amorphous material is opened. When the update hits, players will be able to easily do both single and continuous opening via the NPCs in Albion. That means that Reconstructed Devices created by clearing Void Intercept Battles and Void Fusion Reactors are being removed.
Finally, the “Legion of Breach” will be added to Laboratory Legion settings, and the maximum number of common monsters that can be summoned is being increased to 50.
