The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Team Shows Off Awesome Mocap Featuring Kane Hodder And The Rest Of The "Family" Cast

There's a lot of respect for the source material going around, but will it become a good game?

Texas Chain Saw Game

As Gun marches ever forward to the eventual release of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre game (can we get a release announcement?!), today we all get to sit back and watch a video from the team showing off some of the motion capture work that has been completed.

The extra spicy bit is that the video also includes conversations with many of the mocap team including Kane Hodder, of Jason Voorhees fame, who is playing Leatherface in addition to having assisted the team with stunt coordination.

Fans of the franchise will take dark delight in the way the team is bringing to life the fear, stabbings, chokings, and even the deaths in a way that "brings respect" to the original film. In fact, this "bringing of respect" to the source material is brought up multiple times in the video as even Hodder tips the hat to Gunnar Hansen, the original Leatherface.

"He did so many amazing things that I'm trying to incorporate, his personality traits like the little bit of a twitch, and even though you're never going to see it, I do what Gunnar did a lot, I lick my teeth. Gunnar did that a lot and it was creepy as hell," Hodder delights in saying... just a few minutes before threatening the video's camera staff with "death by foam weapon."

Seriously, I can't wait to try out this asymmetric game and even though I was somewhat skeptical of the game bringing in two new family members, Sissy and Johnny, it does bring some hope to see the duo, played by Kristina Klebe and Dove Meir respectively, in the hands of two that clearly have a love and respect for the iconic horror franchise.
