Prepping For 6.2: Tomestone Changes And PvP Updates Coming To Final Fantasy XIV
It’s time to start preparing for Patch 6.2.
When Final Fantasy XIV’s 6.2 update hits servers sometime in late August, it will be bringing all kinds of new content. That includes new raid content and new raid gear for the taking, and that (as always) means changes to the game’s current tomestones. Currently, the game technically has five tomestones. However, two of them have been obsolete for a while. Players have just retained whatever they’d earned previously in order to exchange them for Tomestones of Poetics. When 6.2 launches, these tomestones – both Allegory and Revelation – will be removed completely, so if anyone still has either of those sitting around, they’ll want to trade them in soon.
As for the current active tomestones, Aphorism and Astronomy, changes are being made to those as well. Aphorism will no longer be useful as a new tomestone, the Allagan Tomestones of Causality, are being introduced. Don’t worry if you haven’t spent your Aphorism after the update. You will be able to trade them in for Astronomy.
The update will also bring changes to PvP. Specifically, PvP Series 1 is ending. If you haven’t completed this yet, you’ll want to get them done now and get those rewards. Once Series 1 comes to an end, rewards will be distributed. Players have until the end of Series 2 to collect the rewards. If you don’t know how to see how far you’ve progressed already, use the Character Menu, select PvP Profile, and then the Series Malmstones button...just remember that the rewards you earn changed a bit since Crystalline Conflict launched.
